Albert "Terry" Erlandson
Albert (Terry) Erlandson was born in Stockton, California on August 5, 1941. Terry attended Stockton schools and received his degree in Industrial Arts from San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton. Terry is married to Roberta having been together almost 24 years. Their family consists of six children, eight grandchildren and one great-grandson.
While still in high school Terry joined the Navy reserves. Immediately after graduation he joined the regular Navy in 1959.
He attended several Navy schools and served aboard the USS Brown and USS Benner. He was honorably discharged from the Navy as a Second Class Machinist mate in August of 1963. In 1964 Terry returned to Naval Reserves. In 1971 he was promoted to Chief Machinist Mate holding this position until his retirement in 1991 after 32 years of service. During this time he received multiple awards and honors. He had a break in service from August 1963 to November 1966 when he worked for Standard Oil of California.
In November 1966, he went to work for the Federal government at Defense Industrial Plant Equipment Center at Rough & Ready Island in Stockton as a Machine Tool Repairer. His final promotion came in February of 1989 as Division Chief of Industrial Plant Equipment. Terry did extensive traveling for many years while supervising people throughout the world in places like Japan, Panama Canal, Philippines, Guam, and Africa. The last ten years of his Federal career he worked for Tracy Defense Logistics Agency as Division Chief of Installation Services in Tracy, CA. After 38 years of service, Terry retired in 2000 receiving the Distinguished Career Award.
One of the reasons Terry made a decision to become a Mason and Shriner is because of his oldest grandson who was a Shriner Child in 1985. Terry was raised in the Summit Lodge #112 in Knights Ferry, CA in August 2006. He received his 32nd Degree from Scottish Rite Valley of Stockton in 2008. Terry joined the Aahmes Shrine in November 2006 and immediately joined the Alchemists Clown Unit. He was Chief of the Alchemists Clowns in 2009 and 2010. Terry received the Aahmes Legion of Honor in 2007 and a Star in January 2011. He has been a member of the Wrecking Crew since 2006, as well as a member of the Aahmes Shurafa RV Club and the Oakdale and Modesto Shrine Clubs
Other activities included his life time membership with American Legion Post 803 serving as Honor Guard for nine years. He is also a member of the Special Military Active and Retired Travel RV Club since 2003. Terry has held offices with the Sons of Norway, Solheim Lodge 6-69 in Stockton of which his parents were Charter Members. He also belongs to the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #391, Stockton, Elks Modesto Lodge #1282 and Life Membership of American Motorcycle Association. His present hobbies include restoring classic vehicles, traveling in the RV, and gardening.
